For all matters relating to rubbish and recycling, collection dates for your property (including Bank Holiday variations), recycling centres, bulky waste etc., see the South Hams District Council website www.southhams.gov.uk and look under the 'Residents' and then 'Rubbish & Recycling' headings. Civic amenity sites are available in Totnes, Kingsbridge and Ivybridge.
A system of Grey (landfill) and Brown (recycling compostables) wheelie bins plus recyclables in bags (paper, tins, some plastic) operates, with landfill and recycling collections made on alternate weeks. Black Bag collections are also made for properties having no wheelie bin access.
As of week commencing 8/11/10, the collection day for wheelie bins for all properties in the Harberton website coverage area (=Harberton electoral roll area) is Friday.
