"Coming To A Field Near You? Have Your Say.
New Energy for the World GmbH is holding an exhibition to air its plans to develop a 24.5 acre solar factory on the outskirts of Harberton [Lower Blakemore Farm].
This note has been prepared by the Campaign Against the Harberton Solar Industrial Estate (CAHSIE).
Our group has already pinpointed statements in the developerís exhibition invitation letter that need to be explored in detail. To do that, we need your help.
We know that the developerís timing is difficult, but if you possibly can, come along and have your say. Your views will count. Members of CAHSIE will be at the exhibition from the start and happy to chat about the developerís proposals.

As many of you will be aware from a flyer delivered to the village recently, there is a developing proposal to site a 24.5-acre solar park approx. three quarters of a mile to the NW of the Harberton centre. A new page on www.harbertondevon.co.uk will, for example, give links to relevant publicly accessible information concerning the proposal, including initially the "Request for EIA screening opinion for proposed Photovoltaic Park" [EIA = environmental impact assessment] which has just appeared on the SHDC Planning website at http://apps.southhams.gov.uk/planningsearch/default.aspx?shortid=23/1306/14/SCROP (*) and the website of the Campaign Against the Harberton Solar Industrial Estate www.cahsie.org.uk. The Harberton website page (and village email circular) will aim to give notice of relevant dates in the planning process, public consultations, public meetings etc. but will not itself carry any comments about the proposal.
(*) NB This is not an actual planning application at this stage (which according to SHDC Planning is the reason the 'Map View' tab does not show the site in question. Relevant documents (which include the site location) will be found under the 'Associated Documents' tab.
