The Chairman opened the meeting by welcoming everyone. The minutes of last year’s meeting were then considered, agreed and signed by the Chairman as a true record. He then asked the councillors if they would kindly give their annual reports without delay.

Harbourne Shuttle: Cllr E Janes reported that more passenger numbers were needed. The private hire figures were good and after a few teething troubles, the bus was running well.

Harbertonford Primary School: Cllr Christiansen reported there were 110 children in four classes and there were 2 vacancies for Meal Time Assistants. Some building work had been carried out in the offices and toilets, with showers being remodelled. A number of school outings had been undertaken and a successful year completed.

Harbertonford Playground Group: No representative at the present time.

Harbertonford Village Hall: Cllr E Janes advised everything was progressing well. The floor had been re-sanded and re-sealed. Numbers of bookings were very healthy.

Harberton Parish Hall: Cllr Stubbings reported everything doing well, with bookings up overall. Some maintenance carried out during the year and three windows replaced after being vandalised.

Harberton Playing Fields Association: Cllr Stubbings reported on behalf of John Culf. The new mower was proving a success and more hardcore had been laid on the upper car park.

Feoffees: D Cllr Steer reported that there had been two meetings as usual and 50 payments of £25 had been made in October. Mr Lund continued as Secretary/Treasurer.

SHDC: D Cllr Steer reported the first year of the new structure completed, with better attendances by councillors. “Best Value” officers have visited to carry out their audit. There was a proven housing need in the South Hams. This parish had been an excellent example of partnership working in the financing of the flood prevention scheme. SHDC had unfortunately to increase their expenditure by 3% this year.

Harbertonford Football Club: Cllr S Jane reported that the plans for the new clubhouse had been passed and it was now down to fundraising.

Chairman: Cllr Hockings wished to thank all councillors for their support this year, especially the Vice Chairman, also D Cllr Steer and Devon County Cllr Masters for their work in getting the flood prevention scheme under way. In Harberton the work to landscape the Ford Area was progressing well.
Code of Conduct. It was regrettable that some councillors felt unable to continue as this council had worked together well over the years and achieved a great deal.
The Chairman also thanked the Clerk for her support during the year.

The meeting closed at 8.40pm.
